Report of Flag Making and Patriotic Song Competition

Introduction

On 14^th August,2024 Mother Velankani English School hosted a Flag-Making and Patriotic Song Competition aimed at celebrating national pride and creativity among students. The event encouraged participants to explore and express their patriotic sentiments through artistic flag designs and original or adapted patriotic songs.

Objective

The competition’s primary objectives were to:

Foster a sense of national pride and unity among students.
Encourage creativity and artistic expression.
Provide students with an opportunity to engage in cultural and historical learning.

Flag-Making Competition

1.1 Overview

The Flag-Making Competition invited students to design and create flags that symbolized national pride, values, or historical significance. Participants were required to adhere to design guidelines emphasizing simplicity, symbolism, and color significance.

1.2 Participants

A total of around 50 students from Std 1 to 7 participated in the flag-making segment. Entries were judged based on creativity, adherence to the theme, and overall design quality.

Creativity and Originality: Unique and imaginative designs that reflect national values.
Symbolism and Relevance: Effective use of symbols and colors representing national identity.

Patriotic Song Competition

A total of 20 students from Grade 1 to 7 participated in the song competition. Performances were evaluated on lyrical content, musicality, and overall presentation.
