Introduction: Guru Purnima, a traditional Hindu festival dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Mother Velankani English School and Jr. College. The occasion was marked by various activities and events that highlighted the importance of teachers and mentors in our lives.
Morning Assembly: The day began with a special morning assembly in the presence of all students, teachers, and staff members. The assembly started with the chanting of prayers and hymns dedicated to gurus. A brief introduction about the significance of Guru Purnima was given by Pushpa ma’am, emphasizing the role of teachers in shaping young minds and imparting knowledge.
Cultural Program: A cultural program followed the morning assembly, showcasing performances by students that honored teachers and gurus. This included dance performances, songs, skits, and recitations that reflected gratitude towards teachers and depicted stories from Indian mythology where gurus played pivotal roles.
Speeches and Presentations: Several teachers and senior students delivered speeches and presentations on the importance of teachers in a student’s life. They shared personal anecdotes and experiences that highlighted the guidance and support received from their mentors. Inspirational quotes and teachings from renowned gurus were also shared to inspire the audience.
Felicitation: On this auspicious occasion, the teachers were felicitated by the students.
