On August 15, 2024, Mother Velankani English School organized a meaningful and engaging celebration of India’s Independence Day. The event was meticulously planned to involve students in activities that honour the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and celebrate India’s diverse cultural heritage.
The day commenced with the solemn flag hoisting ceremony at 7:30 am in the school courtyard. The national flag was unfurled by the chief guest Priya Ma’am, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem by students and teachers.
Students delivered presentations and speeches on the significance of Independence Day, highlighting key events and leaders of the freedom struggle. These educational sessions aimed to deepen students’ understanding of India’s journey to independence.
Vibrant cultural performances were a highlight of the celebration, featuring traditional dances, songs, and recitals.
