Savindhan Diwas (Constitution Day) Celebration

Mother Valenkani English School celebrated Savindhan Diwas (Constitution Day) with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The program was conducted to honour the adoption of the Indian Constitution and to acknowledge the remarkable contribution of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Constitution of India. The day’s events highlighted the importance of the Constitution in shaping the nation and ensuring justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity for all citizens.

Programme Overview

The celebration began with a warm welcome by the anchor of the event, Nida Ma’am, who set the tone for the programme with her confident and graceful anchoring. She briefly highlighted the significance of Constitution Day and introduced the sequence of activities planned for the event.

1. Speech on the Importance of Savindhan

A thought-provoking speech was delivered by Shriya Miss, focusing on the significance of the Constitution in maintaining democratic values in India. She emphasized how the Constitution protects the rights of citizens, maintains national unity, and provides a framework for governance. Her speech inspired the students to understand their duties as responsible citizens.

2. Reading of the Preamble

The Preamble of the Indian Constitution was read collectively by all teachers under the guidance of Angela Miss. This solemn moment helped everyone revisit the guiding principles of the nation. The unified reading created a sense of pride and respect for the values enshrined in the Constitution.

3. Skit on the Importance of Savindhan

A meaningful and educational skit was presented by students, highlighting how the Constitution safeguards equality and justice.

The skit effectively conveyed situations where constitutional rights play a crucial role, making it easier for students to understand the relevance of the Constitution in their daily lives.

4. Quiz Competition

An exciting Quiz Competition on Constitution Day was conducted to test students knowledge about India’s constitutional history, important articles, and national values.

Students actively participated, making the competition lively and informative.

5. Creative Competitions

To encourage artistic expression, the following competitions were organized:

a) Poster Making (Std VII)

Supervised by Heena Miss, students from Class VII created impressive posters highlighting the importance of the Constitution, fundamental rights, duties, and Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions.

b) Rangoli Making (Std VIII & IX)

Guided by Iram Miss, students from Classes VIII and IX created beautiful rangolis portraying national symbols, the Preamble, and diagrams related to constitutional values.

These creative activities allowed students to express patriotism in a vibrant and colourful manner.

6. Photography

Bharti Miss and Helena Miss captured memorable moments of the celebration, including photographs of the Constitution (Savindhan) book and a portrait of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The photographs will serve as a valuable record of this meaningful event.

The blackboard was artistically decorated by Sneha Miss, who illustrated themes related to Constitution Day, adding to the atmosphere of the celebration.
