Mother Velankanni English School celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm, patriotism, and dignity on 26th January at 8:00 a.m. The programme was organised to commemorate the day when the Constitution of India came into effect, marking India as a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic.

The celebration was graced by the presence of our respected Trustee, Honourable Chairperson, Principals, teachers, staff members, and students. The programme began with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, followed by an inspiring introduction highlighting the significance of Republic Day.

The ceremony commenced with the flag hoisting by the respected Principal Ma’am and Mable Ma’am, followed by the National Anthem, Flag Song, and Rajyageet, filling the atmosphere with pride and patriotism.

This was followed by the Pledge and the Preamble of the Constitution of India, reminding everyone of their fundamental duties, rights, and responsibilities as citizens of the nation.

After this, the Copy Mukt Abhiyan Pledge, an initiative taken by the Government to promote honesty and discourage unfair practices in examinations, was administered. All students and staff took the pledge with sincerity and commitment.

The March Past was one of the highlights of the programme. The disciplined students led and escorted the dignitaries, showcasing unity, discipline, and patriotic spirit, which was highly appreciated by everyone present.

The programme continued with a series of speeches and cultural performances. An inspiring speech by Mable Ma’am motivated the students to uphold the values of the Constitution.

The cultural segment included a lively Pre-Primary dance, a Hindi patriotic song by the students of 4th Standard, combined dance performances by 4th & 5th Standard and 6th & 7th Standard, and a powerful dance performance by the 8th Standard students led by Lavanya and her group.

Students from different sections delivered speeches in English, Marathi, and Hindi, expressing their love for the nation and highlighting the importance of Republic Day. A graceful solo dance performance by Suvidha and a melodious solo singing performance by Nikita added charm and enthusiasm to the celebration. The Group Song performance further filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour.

The programme also featured a thought-provoking speech by Sadicha, who shared valuable insights on citizenship, responsibility, and the role of youth in nation-building.

The celebration concluded with a message encouraging everyone to be responsible citizens and contribute positively towards the progress of the nation. The programme ended on a patriotic note with the slogan “Jai Hind!”

The Republic Day celebration at Mother Velankanni English School was a grand success and instilled a sense of unity, pride, and patriotism among all present.
