As part of our commitment to promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental responsibility, Mother Velankani English School organized a Cleanliness Drive within the school premises. The activity was conducted with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, teachers, and non-teaching staff.
The programme commenced with a brief address by the Principal, highlighting the importance of maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings and encouraging students to develop healthy habits that contribute to a cleaner and greener environment. The participants were reminded that cleanliness is not only a personal responsibility but also a social duty.
Students, under the guidance of their teachers, cleaned their classrooms, corridors, playground, garden area, and other common spaces of the school. They collected waste, segregated biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials, and disposed of them in the appropriate dustbins. The activity also included awareness sessions on proper waste management, hygiene, and the significance of reducing plastic usage.
Students enthusiastically carried posters and placards with slogans such as:
- “Clean School, Green School”
- “Cleanliness is Next to Godliness”
- “Keep Your Surroundings Clean”
- “Say No to Plastic”
The Cleanliness Drive instilled a sense of discipline, teamwork, and civic responsibility among the students. It encouraged them to adopt cleanliness as a daily habit and inspired them to spread awareness within their families and communities.
The programme concluded with a pledge by all participants to keep their school, homes, and surroundings clean and to actively contribute towards building a healthier and cleaner society.
The Cleanliness Drive was a grand success and reflected the school’s dedication to nurturing responsible, environmentally conscious, and socially aware citizens.
