On Friday, 26th September 2025, Mother Velankani School and Junior College celebrated a vibrant and culturally enriching Garba event on the school campus. The celebration was open to all students from Class 1 to 12 and was marked with great enthusiasm, joy, and colorful traditional attire. The theme for the event was based on the color green, representing growth, harmony, and festivity. All students were encouraged to wear green-themed Garba attire, which added a vibrant and unified look to the entire celebration.
To ensure smooth organization and meaningful participation, the celebration was scheduled in three separate time slots. The first slot, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, was dedicated to Class 12 students. This was followed by the second slot, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, for students of Classes 8 to 11. The final slot, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, was for the younger students of Classes 1 to 7. Each group enthusiastically took part in Garba performances, dancing to traditional folk tunes with grace and energy. The campus was filled with the rhythmic sounds of dandiya sticks and festive music, creating a joyful atmosphere throughout the day.
To further encourage student participation and creativity, competitions were held in various categories such as Best Attire (for both boys and girls), Best Solo Dance Performance (for both boys and girls), and Best Dance in Pair(for both boys and girls). Students showcased their talent and cultural flair with great confidence and elegance. The judges had a challenging time selecting the winners due to the impressive level of enthusiasm and effort shown by all participants.
This celebration served as a wonderful platform to promote cultural awareness, unity, and confidence among students. It was not only a day of enjoyment but also an opportunity for students to engage with traditional Indian festivities in an educational setting. The entire event was well-received by students, teachers, and staff alike, and it brought together the school community in the true spirit of festivity and togetherness.
